Electric Vehicle Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS)
Following approval by the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV), we can now supply, install and submit claims for grants on behalf of eligible businesses, charities and public sector organisations.
Electric vehicles are a crucial step to decarbonising our transport system and reducing air pollution through zero tailpipe emissions. The government recognises that many businesses and employers will want or require the ability charge vehicles on work premises. These grant schemes are designed to help bring this about.
The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS)
This is a voucher-based scheme designed to provide eligible businesses, charities and public sector organisations with support towards the upfront costs of the purchase and installation of EV charge points. The contribution is limited to the 75% of purchase and installation costs, up to a maximum of £350 for each socket, up to a maximum of 40 across all sites for each applicant.
As an applicant, you will apply for the scheme using an online application portal. If eligibility checks are successful, you will be issued with a unique identification voucher* code via email, which can then be given to any OZEV approved and authorised WCS installer i.e us.
Once the charge point(s) have been installed, we will charge you for the price of the installation less the grant amount. The grant amount will be paid by OZEV to us.
The charge point installation must be completed and the voucher claimed within the 6-month period.
*A voucher can only be redeemed by installers who have been authorised by OZEV for the WCS and have approval from a charge point manufacturer to install their charge point models, which are approved by OZEV.
