DH Marine Ltd have recently moved into new spacious premises at the Marina Business Park at Gremista near Lerwick. This is part of a growth plan agreed with HIE to increase company turnover to over £2 million per annum and create 6 new jobs in the next three years.

The company has a bright future but having evolved on three separate small sites realised that to grow meant operating on one larger site. The company are winning significant work in the energy sector particularly through plant hire and electrical contracting services to highly accredited standards.

The company moved into new premises in December 2012, but there is still work to be done to make the building fully fit for purpose and that will be happening through the course of 2013.

David Henry, managing director of DH Marine says “steady and sustainable growth has always been a strategy of the company, at the same time ensuring the customer’s requirement are continually met or exceeded especially in an ever competitive market place. The new premises will facilitate the future growth of the company in several areas and is vital in keeping as much employment in Shetland as possible.”

David Priest, development manager with Highlands and Islands Enterprise says. ”We have supported the company in this development as an agreed part of their development plan with HIE. DH Marine are very professional and important to Shetland, providing quality accredited services to multinational companies and also in their ability to win work as part of the supply chain for energy developments.”
