Potential candidates will be invited to complete a two week work placement trial in the summer. On completion a final selection will be made.

The 4 year apprenticeships consists of a combination of college hours and on the job experience, leading to a final FICA test and an SVQ/NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installation.

It is a pre-condition of an apprenticeship offer that you must have passed the Scottish Electrical Charitable Training Trust (SECTT) Pre-employment Assessment. To do this you must first register with SECTT, see www.sectt.org.uk and follow the instructions.

On a typical day at DH Marine, you could find yourself working alongside our experienced engineers to:

  • diagnose and repair faults on an oil & gas support vessel
  • replace navigational and lighting electrical equipment on a quay
  • commission electronic systems equipment on board a pelagic boat
  • carry out testing and maintenance on portable equipment, including ATEX rated fixtures and fittings
