Life Rafts

Liferafts are strictly for emergencies and are designed to keep you and your crew alive if you have to leave the safety of your boat.

What do we do?

We supply a wide range of customers, including small leisure and pleasure boats, fishing vessels, aquaculture work boats, ferries and larger inshore and offshore seagoing vessels.

The liferafts we supply are fully compliant with the latest legislation, meeting industry standards and statutory requirements.

We are approved agents for all leading liferaft manufacturers, eg. Ocean Safety, RFD, Seago and Viking.

What do I need?

For leisure craft we can supply rafts in flat containers or valise bags. For small commercial boats we supply the flat SOLAS B* container rafts and for larger commercial vessels we supply the cylindrical SOLAS A container liferafts.

*The Maritime and Coastguard Agency Code of Practice (MSN1871) for the Safety of Fishing Vessels less than 15m in Length Overall changed in October 19. It now requires that a SOLAS B Type liferaft with a Hyrdostatic Release Unit must be fitted - the smallest size available is a 4 person liferaft. For further details see here

All options are available to purchase or hire.

Choosing a liferaft is an important decision. Our experienced and knowledgeable staff will be able to advise you on the best and most cost effective options available.

Purchase

For small and non-commercial boats, liferafts require servicing every third year, so it is usually more economical to buy rather than hire.

Hire

Where boats are involved in commercial activities their liferafts require annual servicing. In this case it usually makes sense to hire, because the cost of servicing is included in the hire rate.
