Make Sure You Are Prepared In The Event Of An Emergency.

Whether you're employed in the fishing and aquaculture industries, or use boats for leisure and pleasure, knowing the risks and being prepared can keep you and others safe.

For your safety and peace of mind we only use manufacturers trusted for their quality and reliability.

Pyrotechnics

We are licenced distributors for a range of pyrotechnics, including day and night flares, hand smoke signals and parachute rockets.

We carefully manage our stock to make sure that everything we supply has the best possible expiry date.

If you previously bought your pyrotechnic from us, you can bring it back to us to dispose of for a charge.

We do not dispose of flares over 10 years old.

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency Code of Practice- MSN1871

This code relates to the Safety of Fishing Vessels less than 15m in Length Overall.

In October 2019 it was amended to include a requirement that fishing vessels over 7Mtr length must carry

EITHER a Cat 1, Auto Release in Housing, Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon more commonly referred to as an EPIRB

OR a Personal Locator Beacon for each crew member more commonly referred to as a PLB

Our knowledgeable staff will be happy to help you select the right products from our range of beacons to help you comply with these changes.

Personal Locator Beacons - PLBs

RescueMe PLB1

We stock a range of PLB units in our shop and these are not just for use at sea – they can equally be used to summon help in remote places on land too.

It transmits your position to a rescue coordination centre via a satellite link, so it doesn't depend on a mobile phone signal- great for Shetland!

So whether you're mountain biking, kayaking, running or just trekking across the beautiful Shetland landscape, a PLB could well save your life or that of someone else.
