Apprenticeship Opportunities - Electrician & Engineering Maintenance

We have two apprenticeship opportunities available for Electrician and Engineering Maintenance. If you are a keen and enthusiastic individual, have a 'can do' attitude and a strong desire to succeed then we want to hear from you!

We have two apprenticeship opportunities available for the following roles.

Electrician SVQ Level 3

The 4 year apprenticeship consists of a combination of college hours and on the job experience, leading to a final FICA test and an SVQ/NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installation.

On a typical day at DH Marine, you could find yourself working alongside our experienced engineers to:

- diagnose and repair faults on an oil & gas support vessel
- replace navigational and lighting electrical equipment on a quay
- commission electronic systems equipment on board a pelagic boat
- carry out testing and maintenance on portable equipment, including ATEX rated fixtures and fittings

Engineering Maintenance SVQ Level 3

The 4 year apprenticeship consists of a combination of college hours and on the job experience, leading to an SVQ/NVQ level 3 in Engineering Maintenance (Mechanical).

On a typical day, you could find yourself working alongside our experienced engineers to:

- carry out routine maintenance on DH Marine plant & equipment at the Sullom Voe and Shetland Gas Plant terminals
- diagnose and repair faults on a marine propulsion system on board a fishing vessel
- repair and maintain customers’ equipment in the DH Marine workshops.
- carry out a major over haul on an engine in-situ, removing, cleaning and replacing worn items such as bearings, valves and seals as necessary.
